So much has happened since my last post that it’s going to take me some time to catch up with everything photographic and website-related, so kindly be forewarned, friends. My two musical buddies, Tom and Ron, arrived on schedule and we spent most of our time during the intervening week working up our act for a concert that we gave on Saturday night at the Historic Ironwood [Michigan] Theater. Our third partner, Rick, was unfortunately unable to join us, due to a series of medical issues. We dedicated the concert to him. I’ll write more about that when I can get to it chronologically.
Meanwhile, during this time, the autumn colors peaked here in northern Minnesota and, within two days of that peak, rain and strong winds plucked and tore the vast majority of the fabulous foliage off and now only the most tenacious leaves remain on the mostly-bare branches. There is still some vibrant color, but it’s mostly on or close to the ground now.
But for now, let us turn back the clock a week or so for the first of my new flashback series…
Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year on your side of the world – thanks for sharing it.
You’re welcome–and so it is, too, on your side! But spring certainly has its special appeal as well. Especially in a crowded zoo…
The colours are so vibrant – beautiful shots!!
They surely were; thanks, Cindy. There’s more to come, and I need to get back out there before the color in the groundcover fades as well.
Beautiful! I’m enjoying your autumn images immensely. Unfortunately, fall in the desert doesn’t have the same effect.
If all ecosystems had the same effect, it would be pretty boring. I have experienced autumn in the desert (on several continents) as well, and they have their own special wonder. I’m looking forward to more of your autumn offerings, Emily!
Feels like home, Gary….
it sure does, Scott!
Great color Gary. It is a shame that the best of Autumn comes and goes so quickly.
That’s a very large part of what makes its appearance–however brief–so very precious. Thanks, Jeff!
