I have had only a little time to get out into the woods today, because this is the day that two of my three best friends arrived, and there were many preparations I had to make.
Also, I’ve not had enough time to process adequately the photographs that I was able to make today, but here are two for a start.

I love the silvery grey strip of colour in the middle of the first image. It’s beautiful in its own right but also really sets off all that glorious colour!
That stretch of dead trees with their feet in the marsh has been there as long as I can remember, and I always look forward to its providing the contrasting band between the living grasses and rushes and the brilliant canopy in the background. Thanks, Meanderer!
Thank you, Gary for all these breath taking, amazing, mesmerizing images of autumn. You have captured the reasons why it is my favorite season. As I sit here listening to your music and admiring the beauty of these images, you’ve made my day much brighter. :)
You are so welcome, Emily! Since I posted this, thanks to rain and days of strong wind, most of the autumn foliage has fallen, but I still have stuff to add from before it did–and since. Soon…
Excellent photography, Gary – especially the upper photo! Adrian
I’m so happy that you like it so much! I did a whole set on that day and will soon merge several into a panorama, now that I have several days of free time…
Hello Gary, your Autumn series of posts here is exceptionally good. You’ve really captured the flora and fauna and the colours of the season. Your images are all beautifully framed and exposed and I particularly like the one of the early morning mist in ‘First Fall Forays’. (Nice alliteration too, I wish I’d come up with that ;-))
Hello, Finn, I’ve had several days of no time to process or post new ones, but I will soon explain and rectify that. I’m delighted that youv’e been enjoying them so much!
