April 23, 2005, on the job in Taiwan. I had the chance to pay a visit to the Taipingshan National Forest Reserve on a very misty, drizzly soft sort of day and chose to have a meditative walk around a pond. Happily, I had an umbrella with me, which allowed me to make this shot of a little island with stepping stones that extended into the pond.
My camera was a Nikon Coolpix 4500, ISO 100, 1/200 second at f/5.5, hand-held. Please click on the photo for a higher-resolution image, and have a nice, quiet Sunday!
Beautiful image. Fog is so lovely; especially in B&W.
Yup, sure do love a good fog!
Such a lovely, simple scene, beautifully captured.
Makes me almost wish I got up earlier in winter – I’m sure there’d be fog over the nearby river.
Almost? Never mind, I understand. It takes ever more for me to get up early cheerfully. But meteor showers? Fishing? Travel? Lunar eclipse? You bet!
It is a lovely quiet image. I don’t think I have attempted to photograph in fog. I might get my chance tomorrow morning.
I hope you do, and good luck–can’t wait to see what you can do with it!
