    Wow! Gorgeous image. I love the contrast between the detailed foreground and the extremely vibrant background colours.

    Yes, the background was essential to set off the subject matter without detracting from it or distracting the viewer. I chose it very carefully, with precisely that in mind. Thanks for reinforcing the effectiveness of my choice.
