Warm Winter Wishes: Happy Returns

We are happy indeed this holiday season—among other things, especially for the return of Squiddy and her family from New Zealand to be with us here in the northern-hemisphere winter for a few weeks.  (This has contributed greatly to my recent lack of blog activity, I hasten to mention.) The Elf is hoping for some serious snow, but it’s only been sparse 3188lrps-postso far. There was, however, a lovely frost on Christmas eve morning when we went for a walk along our local creek, and she burrowed into a patch of euonymus for a closer look.

Such a delightful image. Aesthetically, frost can be as nice as snow, but from the perspective of a child? Snow beats frost every time.
