We are happy indeed this holiday season—among other things, especially for the return of Squiddy and her family from New Zealand to be with us here in the northern-hemisphere winter for a few weeks. (This has contributed greatly to my recent lack of blog activity, I hasten to mention.) The Elf is hoping for some serious snow, but it’s only been sparse so far. There was, however, a lovely frost on Christmas eve morning when we went for a walk along our local creek, and she burrowed into a patch of euonymus for a closer look.

Great shot….I wonder just what she is wishing for :-)
Thanks, David. She’s wishing for a fresh fall of several inches of new snow!
An utterly delightful image, Gary! Seasons Greetings to you and yours.
I’m delighted to hear (read) that you like it so much, M! I do love a good frost–and I’m not the only one!
What a special photo that is :). I am so happy for you that they were able to join you for the holidays! Happy New Year my friend.
Ah, Cindy, you know all about frost, for sure. We get it so seldom that a good one is especially special. Happy New Year to all of you, too!
Such a delightful image. Aesthetically, frost can be as nice as snow, but from the perspective of a child? Snow beats frost every time.
I tentatively agree, but I’m not so sure about every time. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a special fascination for a good frost.
What a great shot. Now that……….deserves to grace a magazine cover :)
You’re too kind, Vicki. Hope you have a wonderfully warm New Year’s celebration!
Thanks Gary. Hope yours is a nice ‘cool’ one. Somehow, the festive season loses a bit in our hot summer.
Your subject will grow up to cherish that portrait.
It’s one of my favorites, and the rest of the family is pretty happy with it too. I think you’re right that she will be too. Thanks very much and a big wish for a healthy and prosperous New Year!
Likewise to you guys!
Hi Gary, I’m returning after too long an absence and just had to comment about this gorgeous portrait. As Steve says above, a portrait to cherish!
Regards, John.
Hi John, So nice to hear from you again! Thanks very much for the high compliment. I see you’ve been doing some wonderful portrait (and other) photography as well, and I’m looking forward to catching up.
Beautiful portrait, my friend. A
Thanks, Adrian, the fab frost provided a golden (or, rather, silver) opportunity.
