Can anyone out there help me? I’ve never had any trouble with WordPress before, but for the past two days, roughly half of the comments I’ve had on my last post are not appearing on the post page! I can see them in the Comments section of the Admin, and they are marked as approved, but they don’t make it onto the blog page. I can’t seem to find a way to ask for help from the WordPress folks, so I’m turning to you out there in the hope that one or more of you can steer me in the right direction. I love your comments and I want to be able to share them!

I’ve been having the same problem, Gary. The comments show up in the Reader but not on the site itself. I’ve spoken with two “experts” who haven’t been able to help.
Oh…if you go to the Reader you will see a ? in the lower right corner where you can ask for help with the issue by asking to speak with someone.
Thank your for First Response, Steve! I see from other comments that WP is aware of the problem and is working on it.
First: you’re not alone. I was having the same trouble this morning, and others have noticed variations on the glitch. My biggest problem was that peoples’ responses to my comments on their blogs weren’t showing up in my notifications tab, even though ‘likes’ appeared there.
A first step for me was to double check every ‘like.’ If I got one in my timeline, I’d go look, and often there was a response to my comment.
Also: if you click on “My Sites” at the top left of your blog, you’ll see a question mark at the bottom right of the page that pops up. Click that, and you’ll be on your way to help. Don’t bother with the forums. Click on “Contact us.” The last time I did, I was lucky enough to get a live chat, even though there was a notice that live chat help would be intermittent. I don’t even remember what the problem was now, but they got me fixed up pronto. If you have to email, they’re usually pretty good about getting back to you in good time.
I just had a chat with WP. They’re aware of an issue or issues, and are trying to pinpoint it. I left links to your blog, Steve’s and several others — that was good, since I could give them examples from around the world. All the info’s been sent to the people in the back rooms who deal with such things, and the WP person said as soon as they’d been able to find a fix, they’d roll it out.
You are awesome and amazing and an inspiration and I’m so glad you’re a pal and willing to share your vast knowledge and help–and not just with this little recent issue! You get a big virtual hug!
That is really sad not to have one’s blog work properly. I am glad to see that shoreacres above was able to help you. Best wishes! Peter
It’s like being let down by an old friend. But it seems that help is on the way. Thanks, Peter!
Sounds like you are getting help from various sources, Gary.
In the past, I’ve found more help by including my problem in a WordPress post, not by the WordPress forums. Sounds like the WordPress helpdesk is on to the problem.
By the way, I ‘m way behind on answering comments in the last couple of days as I’ve been trying to source some new home delivery services and a charity/nursing service who are helping me. If I forget to answer your comment(s), pl forgive me.
I love the image in this post. Looks like a previously undiscovered new genus in N.Z. It’s amazing how many new indigenous little critters are popping up all over the southern hemisphere these days :D
It looks like the help desk came through!
I know you are in some distress there with the comments, and I am also, but I have to thank you for making me laugh so much this morning with your hybrid photo! :) I hope they sort this out soon … and whatever went wrong with the molecular transporter thingy. Kind of reminds me of Jeff Goldblum in ‘The Fly’ … but cuter … not Jeff Goldblum or the the fly … but your photo. Did I really just say that?
What? By photo is cuter than Jeff Goldblum? Awww, I hope so, but surely you just came up with that on the fly!
:)
Hi Gary >>> I’ve just seen this post >>> and I’ve just put out one about just the same problem!!! >>> and contacted WordPress Support >>> so you’re definitely not alone!!! It looks like this may be quite a widespread problem. Adrian
It appears that the problem is solved. Everything looks the way it should (so far) this morning; all the comments are back in place where they should be. Here’s hoping!
