Fleeting Beauty: Leo the Languorous

With the exception of last Saturday, we haven’t seen blue skies or sunshine for about a week and are getting tired of dark mornings and the dismal pallor. It seems we’re not the only ones, as eloquently demonstrated by our Leo as we settled down for a nap today.Leo the Languorous

What a handsome kitty. I confess I didn’t depend solely on this photo to make that judgment. I looked at “Thawing and Reducing,” too, and then did a search for Leo on your blog. How long have you had him? He looks fairly young.

As do we all, Linda–he fits right into this family, because we’re all far more younger-looking and much more fit than one would expect, were one to be accurately informed of our true chronology. We adopted him from our local Humane Society in January 2005 and estimated his age at that time at 1-2 years, so he’s probably now around 14. He’s still in his prime, and we take very good care of him. He rewards us by napping with me and kneading us and caressing our faces with his whiskers by the dawn’s early light.

His fur looks in superb condition.

He has been getting Purina cat chow all his life with us, half the normal one and half indoor formula. Since about a week ago we added Purina One, formulated for older cats. And yes, his coat is wonderfully sleek and he’s a real pleasure to stroke (and he just loves to be stroked)!

Gorgeous picture, Gary – as I think you know, I love cats. A
