Three years ago today we said our final farewell to the last of our adopted canine companions. We had had at least one dog in the family for more than 40 years. It is very hard to imagine a new dog in our foreseeable future, but we will always hold those who have been an integral part of our lives in high esteem. As Limo was the last, he will always have a special place in our hearts. We miss you very much, dear old friend.
By the way, I really believe that the pets that we have taken into out hearts as family members and that have passed on are waiting for us and will be there to help to welcome us into the great beyond, when it’s our time to join them and the rest of all our loved ones.

Sigh….so understand.
Thanks for understanding. Sigh.
From their photos, each seems to have had their own personality — and isn’t that just the way it is? There’s no dog-in-general (or cat-in-general, for those of us who live in that world), there’s only the wonderful, named creatures who bring us joy.
Well said. And those who haven’t lived in that world can’t really understand.
As always, Linda says it so well.
Thanks, Melissa–yes, so well indeed.
Yes, I remember you talking about Limo, and very much understand; I had a cat called George who died maybe 50 years ago – his photo is beside me as I write this, and I think of him often – he was two years older than me, and effectively we grew up together. I especially like the lower photo here, such penetrating gazes and the reflection works excellently. A
I thought this would strike a chord with you, considering your penchant for including reflections in your own work. Thanks for the kind words!
