Introducing…

We’ve been in New Zealand for two weeks now, and I am delighted to report a new arrival in the family.  Batty has brought into the world our second granddaughter and so Squiddy’s daughter (The Elf) now has a new cousin–The Sprout!  She’s now twelve Gruffy & The Sprout 951

The Sprout, 10 days 1020747days old and is gaining weight and sleeping for longer periods each day.  One forgets so easily the magic of holding a newborn and looking into those eyes that are learning to know a whole new world.  It’s very good to have such a fresh reminder!

Congratulations, Gary, to you and to your whole family. The baby is so beautiful, but you don’t need me to tell you that.

  4. Congratulations on a sweet new addition to the family, Gary.

  5. Oh my goodness, she is soooo sweet. Actually, she is one of the most beautiful newborns I have ever seen :). Congrats to everyone, and enjoy every moment with her! By the way, I take it this was the big news that you made us patiently (or not so patiently) wait for? LOL

She’s beautiful, indeed. Let’s see: she’s twelve days old, and you’ve been in NZ for two weeks — I’d say that was beautifully timed, too. Be sure they know this Law of the Universe: grandparents get priority when it comes to baby-holding.

The timing was indeed carefully planned. All of us were ready for her to arrive any time, but as it turned out, it couldn’t have been any better! And, yes, they are well aware of the Law!

Congratulations and best wishes to everyone! She is precious and beautiful.

  8. Adrian Lewis says:

    Great stuff, Gary – congratulations! A :)

Great stuff for sure! I would have liked to celebrate with a Highland Park, but (A) nobody else has developed a taste for it, (β) it’s really hard to find, and (3) it costs nearly twice here what it does back in Nebraska. Guess it will wait until I’m home again!

  9. Ngā mihi nui, which I hope is Māori for Congratulations.

  10. Congratulations! She is soooo precious! :-)

  11. Vicki says:

Congratulations! She’s gorgeous and very cute. Very nice photos too.

Congratulations to you on your new grandchild. Nothing like a newborn to hold. It has been almost 1 year ago when I held my two great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter. They are so precious. Love to you cousin Joan
