Up for air

Hmmm, let’s see if I remember how to do this . . . A certain major event has prevented me from being able to spend any time comfortably at my laptop, and I’m only now able to devote a few minutes at a time.  To put it briefly, my left knee joint was replaced on November 5, and a few complications have made the adjustment considerably less smooth than I had anticipated.  It’s apparently not anything to cause undue concern, I hasten to add; it will just take lots of time, patience, stamina, and physical therapy.   Enough said. Black oak 0398Meanwhile, I’m enjoying looking out the window at those of the trees that still retain some of their autumn foliage.  One of our very favorites is this young black oak, which was looking particularly sleek yesterday morning after an all-night rain.

Thanks for the update, Gary. Your stunning photo of the oak foliage reminds me yet again why fall is my favorite season.

  3. I was wondering where you were because I always look forward to your posts. I’m glad you’re on the mend now, and I’m sure you’ll be running around snapping photos in no time :). We have had a really beautiful Fall here – much warmer than usual – but I’m afraid the cold temperatures and white stuff are headed our way for this weekend. Yuck! Take care my friend.

Kind words, Cindy, and I thank you. I am sure looking forward to being on my feet for more than just a couple of minutes at a time. Running around? Happy thought indeed, but I think that’s likely weeks away.

You captured Autumn perfectly. It’s good to have you back. Find your balance, literally and figuratively, and proceed smoothly to wellness.

It’s good to be back! I find myself looking forward to each new day again (except for the PT)–and all forms of balance are improving daily, I’m delighted to say.

One of my favorite movies, too. I have very high hopes of getting out and about in the very near future, hopefully before the snow flies, or at least before the really cold weather settles in for a spell. Actually, things are looking better today!
