On this milesone of my 500th post with WordPress, I thank all of you who have been following my blogs.
I’ve thought about how to celebrate this, and decided to spend most of the day sorting out a dozen of my all-time favorite images.
Some of these most of you may recognize, but I’m confident that there will also be some new surprises.
I love sharing this photographic passion of mine with you and greatly enjoy not only your feedback, comments, and criticisms, but also the fruits of your own photography, experience, and thoughts that you share with the rest of us.
I am frequently amazed by the talent in this imaginative club that we have developed and value highly the friendships that have grown with quite a few of you around the world.
I wish I had the time to spend hours each day commenting in depth on all of your offerings, but my life at this time doesn’t permit that, and I hope you don’t think that—
when you don’t see anything from me on your blog for a week, or even several—I’m not interested in your offerings, because that’s not the case.
I do what I can with the time that I have, and I do not routinely delete notices of your new posts without saving them for a later look.
In fact, some of you will have noted that I’ll comment on an older post of yours that you likely thought wouldn’t be getting any more attention.
And so I wish my best to you all, and here’s to (at least) 500 more!

Indeed we are, Reggie. I’m amazed by some of the family who have dozens of comments and find the time to answer them all!
Congratulations, Gary, on reaching this new milestone. Your photography is amazing (I’m in awe of your spider shots), but what really stands out in my mind is the way that you have continuously encouraged and supported me (and undoubtedly countless others) as I endeavor to express myself in my images and in my words. Thanks. Best wishes as you share yourself with your loved ones in your real world and in your virtual community.
It’s a gift to be able to share experience and feelings with others who have similar interests. I share your love of dragonfllies and your readiness to embrace and turn your talent–and your camera–to whatever else may come your way. What great fun!

You did an excellent job, Gary, in putting together your retrospective. From this half-way point we look forward to the millennium.
It’s been quite a ride, all right, and if I have anything to say about it, this isn’t anywhere near the half-way point (except for, as you say, the millennium milestone). I can’t wait to see what the next 500 will bring!

I think we go back at least as far as any others of my active followers, and we’ve developed a wonderful rapport. We can tell each other what we really think without any hesitation that we might cause any offense. And we do. Someday we’ll shoot together!
