Crocus focus

One of my very favorite springtime events occurred today: The first two crocuses blossomed. This is always a cause for jubilation, in my book.

First crocuses 7437Usually the purple variety appears first, but this year—as in 2012—the white ones beat them to the punch. More are on the way and I’ll be keeping a close eye on them. The daffodil shoots, by the way, are a few inches higher than they were in my last post, and I’m waiting for them to bloom, too. Meanwhile, I’m more than happy to focus on the crocus.

Then it can’t be long! I thought yours would have sprung up before ours. I guess several warm days have activated their urges. And we’re supposed to hit 79 F this afternoon!
