We have another foster dog from the Nebraska Humane Society. She is our seventh since we joined the program almost exactly a year ago. Would you like to meet her?
Molly is an 8-year-old Bichon Frisé recovering from surgery for bladder stones. She’s a very sweet dog and is totally cool with our only remaining pet, Leo the Magnificent. We’ve had her for nearly four days and she’ll stay with us for another week and a half or so, and then she’ll go back to the Humane Society for adoption. She was really shy at first but has warmed to us and now likes to keep us in sight whenever possible.
She’ll make a good pet in her new home, we are sure. Meanwhile, it’s nice to have another dog around the house for a while!
Why don’t you keep her until she finds her forever home? Such a sweet girl <3
It’s a very good question and, actually, that is a part of the plan. By the time her healing and medications are finished, she will be ready for her new home, and many more potential forever owners will be able to meet her at the Humane Society. Their facilities are wonderful here!
Best wishes to Miss Molly! (And I notice your snow is gone…hallelujah!)
Thanks, Winnie, I don’t think we’ll be seeing any more snow, though the wind is still chilly. There are a few signs of spring already, but only very few, and one must look pretty hard to find them. More on this soon…
Thanks for being a foster family, Gary. We adopted our Murphy from a beagle rescue agency and he was fostered nearby so we were able to visit with him to see if we were suitable. Turns out we were.
It is so rewarding! How long have you had Murphy? Great name! We adopted our last dog from Beagle-Basset rescue. Please check him out: https://krikitarts.wordpress.com/2013/09/23/the-leaving-of-limo/.
Limo was quite the handsome fellow, Gary. Losing a dog is such a special kind of pain. Murphy is our third beagle. Cassie was abandoned near a friend’s home and I brought her home with me. She was wonderful and didn’t mind at all when Mary Beth was added to the family. When we lost Cassie at age 18 to cancer, Dixie came to live with us when she wasn’t up to rabbit hunting snuff for a local hunter. Since I don’t hunt that was not important and we had her love in our lives for 8 years until she got an unrecognizable stomach cancer. After several dogless months, we swallowed the pain and adopted Murphy. He has now been with us for 11 years, he was guesstimated at 5 years old when we adopted him, and has now also been diagnosed with cancer. Every day with him is a gift as the prognosis was for a short duration. But at his age of 16 every day is a gift anyway. So we are enjoying every one of them and so far so is he.

What a sweetie! Good on you, Gary.
Yup, her hopeful little face can bring us a smile just about any time.
She looks lovely.
She is indeed, and she’s getting better every day!
