This photo is a couple of weeks old now, but we still have violets in bloom, and I wanted to share this with you before they have all withered to provide the fodder for future generations. How can one not love a violet—or better yet, a quartet of them?

So pretty. I love their delicate perfume too.
Yes, a nice little added bonus.
Sweet violets! Love the rich colour here.
So sweet of you to say so!
Again you’ve caught that wonderful vibrant glow in these flowers, Gary – very beautiful. Adrian
I didn’t really have to do all that much to catch it, but I am so happy to have had it there when I wanted to!
The blue of the violets is nature’s most alluring colour. And against the green of the leaves the whole thing is exquisite. Great shot Gary and thanks for sharing it.
For me, greens and blues are the best–what wonderful inventions. Thanks once again for agreeing with me, Finn!
Beautiful violets. Love the vibrant colors you’ve captured. It brightens my day just looking at it. I know these are not quite the same but I used to grow African Violets. It’s amazing the colors and varieties you can cultivate with time and patience. Personally though, I like these wild ones the best. Thanks for brightening my day, Gary.
My mother used to grow the African ones too–maybe that’s one of the reasons that I’m so fond of the family (I, too, am quite partial to the wild ones). You’re so welcome!
