I’ve just placed my fresh Frangelico Chocolate Pecan Pie into the fridge to cool and would like to wish you all a most delightful Thanksgiving! It’s still unseasonably warm—it topped 70°F here yesterday and should reach 60 today—but there’s still, unfortunately, no rain in our forecast through the weekend. Otherwise all is well—CD is baking the squash and the potatoes, and we’re going to the home of our neighbors again late this afternoon as usual to join with ten others for the traditional feast. Here are a few new offerings—all are from around three and a half weeks ago—to help to keep us all in the spirit of this wonderful day. Make the most of it, and be sure to share the best of yourselves with those you love!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Gary.
Love the photos, excellent color, and the detail in the turkey is great.
You, too, Jeff. Yes, the turkeys are definitely worth close study.
Hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving Gary :). I need to go get a snack now because you made me hungry talking about yummy Thanksgiving food!! LOL
For my ideal TG feast, I’d be totally happy with some crispy skin, stuffing, gravy, cranberries, and a nice glass of a good, earthy red wine, like an Argentinian Malbec.
Happy Thanksgiving, Gary. :)
Thanks a lot, Emily, I hope you had a wonderful time with good new and/or old friends, and that your plans are working out to meet your full expectations!
Hope you had a lovely day :-)
We certainly did! Were you able to participate in a similar celebratory ritual feast?
It’s not something we generally mark in the UK. We have Bonfire Night (Guy Fawkes) on 5th November and then for some of us the Winter Solstice around the 21st December – and then Christmas.
Beautiful autumnal pictures, Gary! Adrian
Thanks again, Adrian–have to reach back now to find this sort of color. Everything has pretty much turned brown now. But that’s as it should be. Soon (I hope) the snow will fly, and that will bring a new set of beauties and challenges. I’m ready!
Beautiful photos, Gary…and sounds like it was going to be a wonderful meal, as well…especially with that chocolate pecan pie…I make one of those, too…dark chocolate chips and coconut inside…. :)
Oh, yeah! What brand of chocolate chips do you use? I’ve settled on the Ghirardelli 60%, and everyone loves the result.
Yeah, how cool is that!? I just use the Hershey’s semi-sweet dark chips and it’s a family favorite, as well. Have taken one to work every few years and, while people say it’s wonderful, they also say that’s it a bit rich…which it is! :)
