Serenity Sunday: Midsummer Meadow

It was below 0°F here this morning and the snow is crusty and crunchy.  On the one hand, it’s a relief to know that the pleasant but frightening January heat wave is over and that temperatures have dropped to normal levels for this time of year; on the other, in choosing a new offering for my Serenity series, I’m drawn to one that takes us back to summer.  This wetland meadow is one of my favorites, and is very close to our cabin in northern Minnesota.  The road is being “improved” and widened, and I’m afraid that it may never again look quite like this, so this image means all the more to me.  Warm wishes!

What a pleasure to see all this green..Lovely! :)

  2. How beautiful. A couple years ago I had a daily walk that took me past a small wood. I recently drove by that route and there’s nothing left but new hotels and parking lots. So sad. But I have lots of photos as reminders of what it used to be.

Your green meadow makes me smile. Thank you for the warmth!

Sad indeed, to see the results of some peoples’ ideas of progress. Some lovely places are lost, but for some of us, a part of them lives on within us. Our photographs are all the more valuable to help us to remember and keep them alive. You are very welcome!
