Century Celebration

Dear friends and followers, this is my 100th post.  I have been pondering how I should best arrange a celebratory post.  First please accept my grateful thanks, all of you who have been following my website since I joined WordPress a little over a year ago and have been providing constructive feedback, and especially to my daughters, who surprised me by developing my first website a couple of years before that.

I have decided to present some of my very favorite photos on this occasion, and it has proved to be quite a challenge.  I have decided to hold it down to ten, but rest assured that I am keeping a file of the others in my short list and will be presenting them in future posts, probably in my planned Friday Flashbacks.

I also considered carefully how much information I should include about each photo—what camera I used, what film (in some cases), lens, shutter speed, aperture, general circumstances, etc.—and decided to keep it as simple as possible, to avoid too long a post, so I’ll restrict myself to location; I shot the ones in this set over the course of the past 20 years.  If any of you would like more specific information on individual shots, I will gladly provide it to you.

I present these in no particular order, but have arranged them as seems appropriate to me at this time.  And so, welcome once again—and please enjoy the ride!

  1. Those are all breathtaking! I understand why you couldn’t cull it down to only 12. I can’t wait to see what else you have done. Your blog is very inspirational!

First a big CONGRATS!!!! 100 posts!!!!! These are some fantastic shots. You should be very proud of them. Many in my camera club would die to have them. The shell and sand still stick in my mind as does the little girl and my fav the Lagoon. Thanks for the ride and here’s to many more.

What a treat it is to have friends who appreciate the work and love that go into this passion of ours–I’m honored to have you among them and am so looking forward to discovering what the new year has in store for us!

Congratulations on your 100th post! And what great choices you have here to celebrate the milestone. I really like the first shot of the crane in flight. It works well to represent your blog — you know… it’s taking off. And then the wonderful capture of the little girl. Her expression is priceless. Great work! I’m looking forward to see the other images that you had to hold back. :)

  4. Congratulations on your 100th post! These images are fantastic!!! I absolutely adore the b&w image of the tree, this is one part of Argentina that I haven’t visited yet.

I was not expecting anything special when we began the drive across the lagoon, but when I saw the trees and the fence silhouetted and mirrored in the shallow water, I knew that my photographic guardian angel had come through for me once again. I treasure the memory and am happy that I am able to share this portion of it. I am planning to re-visit my original images to work with them a bit more. We shall see. Thanks for letting me know you like it, too!
