As if in response to my recent lamentation about the highly-depressing, mandatory  switch to daylight losing time, the weather gods had pity on me and gave me a perfectlybeautiful today.  The temperature rose above 70°F, the sky was only a 

First crocuses of 2011

little hazy, there was a gentle breeze, and to top it all off, the first three crocuses appeared in the garden between the house and the walk.  It was perfect for a few chores of YardWork (cutting back last year’s ornamental grasses to make room for the new spring growth), followed by a good hour of sitting on the front porch with my guitar in my lap and Limo by my side, watching the squirrels cavorting on the greening grass and the chickadees, nuthatches, purple finches, sparrows, and cardinals fattening them-selves up at the bird feeder.  Aahhh!
