Another cold(ish) snap

Eight degrees below zero at eight o’clock this morning.  Not the coldest weather I’ve ever experienced, by any means–that has to have been while we were living in Moorhead, Minnesota and I was working out of Detroit Lakes, some 45 miles to the east:  I remember very clearly that one morning, as I drove across those plains, the temperature was -36 and the wind was whistling along at 60 mph, which produced a wind chill–that would have made Frank Zappa proud–of a hundred degrees below zero.  Still, it’s quite pleasantly crunchy outside, and chilly enough that I took pity on Limo and dressed him up in his best winter protection before taking him out for his morning  constitutional.  The rubber booties (Pawz) are a real blessing when the snow is this cold, though I wish they came in his size in a different color.  Red, to match his jacket, for example, would sure be nice!  Oh well, I guess he doesn’t mind too awfully; his feet are certainly much more comfortable.
